Machine Gun Kelly gets booed & throws hands at Louder than Life festival

Here's a piece of advice: maybe don't insult Slipknot and then play a hard rock and metal festival.

That seems to be the prevailing lesson in an eventful week for Machine Gun Kelly, who was booed during his set at this past weekend's Louder than Life festival after dissing the Knot as "old weird dudes with masks" during his Riot Fest performance earlier this month.

In fan-shot footage of Kelly's Louder than Life rendition of his song "Concert for Aliens," you can hear the crowd voicing their displeasure with the "Bloody Valentine" rocker, yelling "You suck!" and holding their middle fingers in the air. When the song ends, the audience let loose a cavalcade of boos.

Meanwhile, another video shows Kelly getting pushed by an apparent Louder than Life attendee who'd gotten into the pit area. As the attendee is getting swept away by security, Kelly appears to throw a punch in his direction.

As for the origins of the MGK/Slipknot feud, we learned last week that it stems from a scrapped collaboration between Kelly and frontman Corey Taylor planned for the former's 2020 album, Tickets to My Downfall. Taylor had written a verse for a song off the record, but it ultimately wasn't used.

Taylor shared screenshots of emails between him and Tickets producer Travis Barker, in which the Blink-182 drummer offers some notes Kelly had for the verse. In his response to Barker, Taylor wrote that he "listened to the ideas" and felt he wasn't the "right guy for the track."

"I didn't do the track because I don't like when people try to 'write' for me," Taylor wrote alongside the screenshots. "I said NO to THEM."

Kelly, however, contends that the collaboration fell through because Taylor's verse was "really bad."
