JSO investigating ‘targeted’ shooting outside of Amazon Fulfillment Center

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting outside of the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Pecan Park Road.

Police say a 20-year-old man was waiting in line outside of the center on Monday afternoon to fill out a job application, when two men approached him and began shooting.

Police say the 20-year-old man was killed, while two other people were grazed by gunfire.

Directly after the shooting, investigators say the two suspects got into a four-door, newer model silver vehicle where they had a driver waiting. JSO has released a photo of that vehicle [pictured below].

As for the suspects, investigators describe the two gunmen as two young black men in their early 20′s. Police say there is currently no description of their driver.

JSO says this was not a random shooting, but instead specifically targeted the victim. At this time, there’s no word yet on a possible motive.

Police have said this is not a workplace violence incident and did not involve any current Amazon employees.

Amazon has released the following statement about the incident:

“This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and all those who have been impacted by this incident. We are working closely with the Sheriff as they investigate.”

If you have any information, you’re urged to call JSO at (904) 630-0500 or call Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
