Following an announcement by Minor League Baseball, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp confirms their 2020 season has been canceled.
While the Jumbo Shrimp owner/CEO Ken Babby calls the decision ‘devastating’, he says they do still plan to hold events at 121 Financial Ballpark.
"While we are disappointed there will be no Jumbo Shrimp baseball in 2020, we are looking forward to the many socially-distanced and safe events that continue to bring Affordable Family Fun to our community," says Babby.
If you had bought individual game tickets for any game of the 2020 season, the team says you will automatically receive a credit to your ticket account.
The team says this marks the first time since 1969 that Jacksonville will not field a professional baseball season.
